Rios Floor stocks rectified porcelain tile in three large formats — 24" x 48", 48" x 48" and 48" x 72" — imported directly from the factory and sold to contractors, builders, installers and property managers at trade pricing. All 15 tiles above are Group BIa porcelain (water absorption under 0.5%), PEI 4 abrasion rated and rated for walls and floors, so one tile can run from the kitchen floor up the shower wall. Each one links to its own page with surface, edge, coverage and installation details.
The collection splits into two surfaces, and the choice is mostly about where the tile goes.
Both surfaces are stain and acid resistant and never need sealing, unlike natural marble or travertine.
| Tile | Pieces per box | Coverage per box | Boxes per 1,000 sq ft | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 24" x 48" rectified | 2 | 15.5 sq ft | 65 | Bathrooms, kitchens, shower walls, smaller rooms |
| 48" x 48" rectified | 2 | 31 sq ft | 33 | Great rooms, open plans, lobbies, showrooms |
| 48" x 72" rectified | 2 | 46.5 sq ft | 22 | Statement floors and feature walls with almost no grout lines |
Order 10% overage for cuts on 24" x 48" and 10–15% on the two larger formats, where a single broken tile costs more than the waste it replaces. Rectified edges allow a 1/16" (1.5 mm) grout joint; use a leveling-clip system and a large-format polymer-modified mortar (ANSI A118.4), and back-butter every tile. The two larger sizes need a substrate flat to 1/8" over 10 feet and two installers to handle safely.

Request a trade quoteCeramic tile is softer, absorbs more water and is usually limited to walls and light-traffic floors; porcelain is fired denser and harder, which is why every tile Rios Floor stocks is porcelain rated PEI 4 for residential and light commercial traffic. Against natural marble, porcelain wins on cost, maintenance and consistency: no sealing, no etching from citrus or cleaners, and a visual that repeats predictably across a 2,000 sq ft floor instead of changing from slab to slab. For a complete flooring package, the matte wood-look porcelain pairs with our SPC vinyl plank oaks in similar tones so bedrooms and wet areas read as one floor. Often yes, if the existing tile is well bonded and flat to 1/8" over 10 feet. The surface must be cleaned, scuffed and primed, and the extra height must work with doors and transitions. For 48" x 48" and larger, a self-leveling underlayment over the old tile is usually the safer route.
Polished tile is fine in a bathroom floor that stays mostly dry, but inside a shower pan we recommend a matte tile or a mosaic for grip. Many of our customers run polished marble-look tile on the floor and walls and switch to a matte or textured piece only in the shower floor.
Rectified edges allow a 1/16" (1.5 mm) joint. Use a large-format, polymer-modified thin-set (ANSI A118.4 or better), a 1/2" notched trowel, back-butter each tile, and use a leveling-clip system to prevent lippage. Allow 24 hours before grouting.
Rectified large-format tile is normally finished with a metal edge profile (Schluter-type) rather than bullnose, and most of our customers do exactly that. Ask when you request a quote and we will point you to the right profile for the tile thickness.
